Specializing in low-light image enhancement, Toma is the sole author of the papers introducing the training-free, CPU-only Retinex methods FSSR, XCR and SD-Retinex, and has openly released SD-Retinex’s code and evaluation results. Working end to end on seeing in the dark — from method design to implementation and evaluation — Toma leads technology development and the business at Beacon. Member of IEICE and IPSJ.
